Day 1 of the Love and Harmony Cruise has made its mark, Day 2 is highly anticipated

Nearly 2,000 Caribbean revelers counted themselves lucky enjoying the first day of the 2022 edition of the Love and Harmony cruise. On Saturday, Holland America’s MS Nieuw Amsterdam left Fort Lauderdale en route to Jamaica. The ship is expected to reach Ocho Rios, Jamaica at 11 a.m. Monday after spending a day at sea on Sunday. His next stop after Ocho Rios is the Bahamas, then he will return to Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale on April 7.and.

Before boarding, guests had to join a long queue to get tested for COVID 19, and some “Jamaican weather” was added to the departure schedule. However, guests who spoke with CNW didn’t bother the wait as lots of food, drink and a lively going away party kept them happy and entertained.

Errington and Yolanda Lindo were two happy travelers who had this once-a-year opportunity to see some of reggae’s biggest bands on a cruise. It was even more special for them as it is their 25th wedding anniversary this year. “We wanted something fun and exciting to do, and it was an easy choice because we were here in 2018,” they said.

Althea and her daughters are from Trinidad, and she had been on the 2019 edition of the cruise. It’s her 60th birthday and she considered herself ‘very lucky’ to be celebrating her special birthday with her children on the Love and Harmony cruise. “I loved it in 2019 and thought it would be an amazing birthday present,” she said.

Novellette, Vivine, Jackie, Angella and Andrea traveled from Queens, New York to experience the live entertainment and fun that has characterized the cruise since its inception. Andrea is the only one who isn’t a first timer, and she looks forward to “a great time and food from the Jamaican chef” on board. The five ladies are delighted to see their favorite artist Beres Hammond, who is due to take the stage on April 5 at the “All-White” concert.

The type of crowd on the cruise spans all age groups, with a significant majority of middle-aged people. We also found many couples, some of whom used the cruise to bond, and friends who wanted to enhance their camaraderie.

Orville and Odette are married and eagerly awaiting performances from Buju Banton, Beres Hammond and comedian Major Hype. He pointed out that only one thing is nicer than Beres – “More Beres”, which had the table laughing loudly, including their married friends Ordale and Juline.

Both have been on the Love and Harmony Cruise on three other occasions. Juline said previous cruises were fun filled and she looked forward to the various activities and entertainers. “It was always nice, and we aspire to that year after year. That’s why we come back,” she stressed. She looks forward to Nadine Sutherland, Buju Banton and Beenie Man. Her husband knew Buju Banton from school for all ages and expects a good show from his “favorite artist”.

The highlight of the first day, however, belongs to the “Sweet Dreams Lingerie Party”. A massive crowd filled the 11th floor entertainment room and were thoroughly entertained by a very talented DJ crew. The ladies paraded their best sleepwear with mature tastes, as they skillfully danced their souls into the wee hours of Sunday morning.

With day one over, the anticipation is high and swelling for what lies ahead on day two. Food and drink are plentiful, and with people having no time or reason to question their appetites, organizers may be trying to send a subtle health message on day two.

Today guests will be exposed to “Soca Fitness Cardio & Core Balster Strength Training”. Cruisers will also have the chance to show off their dominoes skills, and for those who know how to handle the hoops, basketball will be on the program. A flag party will also show the true colors of those on board today.

The evening entertainment package will see top comedian Majah Hype adding more exercise to the laughing muscles. Three of Jamaica’s most prominent singers will be in action tonight as Coco Tea, Wayne Wonder and Nadine Sutherland grace the stage with their culture and repertoire of amorous rock music. Later that night, Nadine and Wayne will host the 80s and 90s party.

The second day at sea should be another fantastic experience for cruise passengers, which is highly anticipated.
