Reading time: 3 minutes

Fena: the pirate princess is a cut Exclusive to Crunchyroll / Adult Swim adventure anime of Production GI. Fena is Lord Abel’s captive, Yukimaru is alone in pursuit of their ship, having separated from the rest of the crew when they chose not to organize a rescue. But will Yukimaru be enough to save Fena in Fena: Pirate Princess Episode 7?

The best way to find out more about someone is to witness their actions. Actions, after all, speak much louder than words. This truth is brought to light when these actions are supported by cannon fire. When Lord Abel’s discussion with Fena is interrupted by an unwanted visitor, Fena: Pirate Princess Episode 7 gives us a good look at the man Fena was trapped with. Let’s just say he doesn’t appear to be sober or merciful.

But while Fena learns of the existence of her captor, back on the Bonito, the crew have a difficult conversation about the best course of action for them regarding their absent friends. Because although they are honored to follow their orders, Fena and Yukimaru are friends. Can they leave them behind?

Fena: Pirate Princess Episode 7 reaches its narrative climax as Fena takes a look at the cold and impartial work of her captor. Struck with fear, Fena begins to panic and cry for help. The way and the way the story responds to Fena’s cry is the perfection of the storytelling. This is the most obvious possibility, and yet there is no way it could have been better handled. It delivers a sort of magic in the moment that’s hard to describe. But it’s there and it’s amazing.

By closing the episode, we finally get to see some of the sword clashes I wanted from this series. The sleek fighting style is beautifully delivered here. While I would always love more, the show draws so much from every moment the swords are drawn.

One aspect of Fena: Pirate Princess Episode 7 what greatly helps the emotion of this episode is its amazing soundtrack. The background music throughout the episode enhances the emotions, threats, and thrills throughout the episode, while still keeping a sound reminiscent of the high seas and pirate battles.

The combination with the fantastic story and the beautiful soundtrack is Fena: pirate princessis always a memorable animation. Production IG continues to offer a masterclass in animation. So many elements of Fena’s journey are imbued with a sort of romantic aura thanks to the smooth animations and brilliant visuals. And when Lord Abel displays his displeasure at the aforementioned interruption, the animation intensifies to offer something on a whole new scale that is sure to be etched in the minds of many viewers. Abel doesn’t do things by halves and neither does Production IG.

So, to put everything back in place, Fena: Pirate Princess Episode 7 delivers the final installment of his adventure on the high seas with an emotional adventure that comes with a skillful grace that I can’t imagine wanting more. It’s already been an amazing year for me when it comes to anime and if Fena: pirate princess keep it up, the best may still be yet to come. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to review this episode!
