Princess Anne in Cowes for Spitfire Display and Fleet Review

A BUSY and sunny Cowes was treated to a spectacular spectacle on land, at sea and in the air today (Saturday).

A special guest, the Princess Royal watched the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations from the WetWheels’ charity ship.

His Royal Highness conducted a fleet and engine review, in the presence of HMS Severn.

A committee of sailing organisations, class associations and clubs from across the Solent region organized the event.

It was a gathering of small Dunkirk vessels, historic yachts, sail training boats and over 400 boats from Solent yacht clubs and organisations.
