The Princess of Wales’ chic navy suit is a timeless fall staple
The Princess of Wales, formerly Duchess of Cambridge, wore a chic navy suit on Thursday September 29 to meet the crew of HMS Glasgow.
The princess’ two-piece suit consisted of a classic blazer and straight trousers, worn over a crisp white shirt. The blue and white ensemble gave a nautical nod to its encounter with the Navy.
A classic cut suit is a timeless investment for fall as it can be used for office meetings as well as nights out. Add fresh white sneakers for a casual chic feel or add heels to dress up for dinner. You can also wear the pants and blazer separately as part of other outfits, making them an ideal capsule piece.
Kate’s own costume is from British design house Alexander McQueen. If you want to achieve a similar look without the designer price tag, check out some of our favorite navy blazers and dress pants from across the street:
Kate is the patron of HMS Glasgow and has met with members of the Royal Navy to learn about life at sea and the work being done to prepare the ship for going out on the water.

Kate’s latest visit comes after the Prince and Princess of Wales made their first public appearance since receiving their new titles earlier this week.
For their outing, the couple returned to Anglesey in North Wales, where they lived together after their marriage while Prince William worked as a search and rescue pilot nearby. They then traveled to Swansea, South Wales, later that day.
