Update August 31: Sky Princess Princess Cruises third ship to restart
Sky Princess leaves Southampton
Princess Cruises’ Sky Princess has joined sister ship Regal Princess in UK cruise operation.
The MedallionClass ship left the port of Southampton on Monday – the first time it has sailed with passengers from the UK.
“It’s fantastic to welcome guests back on board another Princess ship, this time the magnificent Sky Princess, our second ship to join us here in the UK,” said Tony Roberts, Vice President of Princess Cruises UK and Europe.
“Yesterday was an important day for Sky Princess as it also marked her first departure from Southampton – [which will be] her home port for three consecutive years – with guests on board.
Until October 5, the ship will take British passengers on short scenic trips to Liverpool, Greenock, Belfast and Portland.
It is the third ship in the Princess fleet to return to service. The first, the Majestic Princess, began sailing from Seattle in July.
Lindblad Salish Sea Route Replaces Canadian Ports
Based on Canadian travel restrictions, Lindblad Expeditions has developed a revised itinerary for its October trip to British Columbia and the San Juan Islands, which will now offer a wilderness experience in the Salish Sea.
‘Exploring the Pacific Northwest: The Jewels of The Salish Sea’ will explore Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands in northern Washington state aboard the 100-passenger National Geographic Venture.
The seven-night round trip from Seattle will offer opportunities for kayaking and hiking. Highlights include the Olympic National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Hurricane Ridge, Marymere Falls, zoom in on photogenic mushrooms during an expert-led foraging experiment and a perspective on marine life through the lens of an underwater specialist’s camera.
Departures are October 2, 9 and 16, with rates starting at $ 5,290 per person, double occupancy. Lindblad is offering an air credit of $ 500 per person for all departures and forfeiting the solo bonus on the October 16 trip.
